About Nonie

I’m a singer/songwriter who from an early age and as a result from being in a musical family, church choirs and the influence of an elderly friend (Annie Jury) down the road who played piano and had once been an entertainer- I knew music would be my life.

I’ve played in pubs, house concerts, big concerts with my band at Kitchener’s The Centre in the Square/ Guelph’s River Run/ Toronto’s Hugh’s Room just to name a few. I’ve also opened for great talents such as The Blind Boys of Alabama for sold out concert venues across Ontario showing off my bluesy side or folky side with Sylvia Tyson also to name just a few.

Festivals across Canada -Hillside, Mirimichi, Summerfolk etc.

I’ve even toured across Ireland showing off my Celtic side with Moonlight Dreams CD (Nonie and Eugene O’Neill’s lyrics) and had the great pleasure of performing with Altman and Clannad in Concert in Donegal.

Now my next journey is to Cape Breton where my husband Eugene Rea and I will open the Celtic Mansion B & B, build a recording studio/performance venue, and keep music in every nook and cranny of the big old beautiful house.

I’ve been teaching guitar, vocals, bass, ukulele, harmonica and mentoring young and old for years now and I hope to continue in Little Bras D’or.

To get to know me here’s a song about my youth called Raised in the Good Old Days https://open.spotify.com/track/2aa2NSejprmHVHIiWC3rXE?si=gcg3qttrQcSupAKbDClLRg
